Sodom And Gomorrah Verse In The Bible

Sodom And Gomorrah Verse In The Bible

The Bible is a complex and fascinating book. It contains many stories that are fascinating, such as the story of Noah’s Ark. However, it also contains a few verses that seem rather odd by modern standards. For example, why did God destroy Sodom and Gomorrah? Did they do something bad, or was it just random chance?

Genesis 19:24

In Genesis 19:24, God tells Lot that He is going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. God says, “I will sweep away the people against whom you have brought me out so that I may fulfill my oath.” The Hebrew word translated “destroy” here means to lay waste or render desolate. Since it says that God will lay waste or render desolate both cities, it suggests that He intended this destruction for all of them as an act of judgment on their sin.

God also declares His great wrath at being forced out by the men who came to abuse Lot’s guests (Genesis 19:21). When we look at our own experience, we see how enraged we can become when someone hurts us or our loved ones—and this is how God feels when His people are hurt!

As punishment for their wickedness, God sent fire down from heaven and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah in a rain of fire and brimstone (see Genesis 19:24-25). This was not just any kind of fire—it was an unusual mixture of sulfuric acid droplets combined with water molecules!

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

The Bible verse, which is from the Book of Genesis chapter 19, reads:

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.^^

Deuteronomy 29:23

God says that He will destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for their wickedness. This is a warning to all people that God does not tolerate sin, and if you continue in your wicked ways, then you will be destroyed just like these two cities were destroyed.

And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:

By a brimstone, we are to understand the stinking vapors which arise from the burning of bitumen and sulphur. The land is so hot that nothing can grow thereon; but it is not to be said that grass will not grow in any part or place of Sodom, only that no grass grows in the whole country of Sodom.

It is true that there were some who believed otherwise; but their opinion has been long exploded by learned and impartial writers on this subject. We have now given you all the facts necessary for your information; and if you still continue in doubt upon any point mentioned above, pray refer it directly to us for further information upon every particular contained herein mentioned before proceeding further with our narrative

Isaiah 1:9

God’s wrath is poured out on the wicked, sinners and the unrighteous. God’s wrath is poured out on those who disobey his commands. God’s wrath is poured out on those who sin against him. The Bible says that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of their sins. Their sins were great in number according to Genesis 13:13-19 “The men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD.” It contained many cities such as Sodom, Gomorrah and Admah (Genesis 14:10) where they lived in prosperity until suddenly destroyed by fire from heaven (Genesis 19:24).

Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted [him], and were destroyed of serpents. And let us not murmur (complain), as some of them murmured (complaint), and were destroyed of the destroyer. But let us cleave fast unto the LORD our God (hold on tightly to him), for he is our salvation.—Jude 1:12-21

Jeremiah 50:40

The book of Jeremiah is a collection of the prophetic books, oracles, and speeches written by the prophet Jeremiah. It is one of the largest books in the Bible, containing over one-third of its total text (33 chapters). The book contains 23 separate oracles against foreign nations and kingdoms, including Babylon, Moab, Edom, Ammon and Egypt.

The book ends with an epilogue summarizing God’s covenantal relationship with Israel.

As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

Jeremiah 50:40 KJV

Jeremiah 50:40 KJV

40As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah And their neighboring cities,” says the LORD,” So no one shall reside there, Nor son of man dwell in it.

This verse indicates that God will destroy all of the nations in this region as he did to Sodom and Gomorrah, so no one can live there.

As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah And their neighboring cities,” says the LORD,” So no one shall reside there, Nor son of man dwell in it.

God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of their evil, and He will do the same in the future. God will not allow anyone to live in these cities:

“As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, so no one shall reside there, nor son of man dwell in it.” (Jeremiah 50:40)

The evil of Sodom can be seen as a precursor to that which is described in Matthew 24:51-53. If you look at all the clues given in this verse about what is happening on earth during Christ’s return–you will find yourself studying Revelation 17:18-19 and 18:10-16; 20:10; 21:5; 22:15–all those places where Babylonian religion has taken over!

Romans 9:29 KJV

Romans 9:29 KJV

And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

And as Esaias said before,” Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,” We had been as Sodoma,” And been made like unto Gomorrha.

As Isaiah said before, “Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,” we had been as Sodoma and been made like unto Gomorrha.

In this verse, Esaias (Isaiah) refers to God as the “Lord of Sabaoth.” The word “sabaoth” means hosts or armies in Hebrew. This is an example of how ancient languages can be translated into new words that have completely different meanings in another language today. In other words, they’re no longer synonyms but instead are two distinct words with two separate meanings.

The Bible is a powerful testament to God’s love for us and his desire to save us from our sins. It is also filled with stories about how he has acted in history, whether through the prophets or through Jesus Christ himself. The passages we have discussed here give us a glimpse into the lives of men who were chosen by God for their faithfulness and obedience, even when it meant giving up everything they knew in order to obey his commands.
