Verses In The Bible About Forgiving Others

The Bible is a book that teaches us how to live. It tells us how to treat other people, how to forgive others, and how we should interact with God. There is nothing more important than mastering these lessons because they will help you live a better life.

Mark 11:25- “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

  • Forgiving others is a gift to yourself.
  • Forgiving others is an act of love.
  • Forgiving others is a gift to God, who wants us to be in relationship with him and each other.
  • Forgiveness is also a gift to the other person because it frees them from the burden of guilt and shame that often accompanies holding onto negative feelings towards someone else for too long (or forever).

Matthew 6:15- “But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

The Bible also tells us to forgive others, because God forgives us. There is a two-way street of forgiveness that can only be walked when we give it. In Matthew 6:15-18, Jesus says “But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

This verse teaches that forgiveness is not a one time event, but rather a choice you must make every day. Forgiveness isn’t something that someone else does for you; it’s something we do for ourselves by choosing to let go of the past and refusing to allow ourselves to harbor anger and resentment towards someone who has wronged us or hurt our feelings in some way. If you don’t choose this path yourself then no one will do it for you!

Ephesians 4:32- “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

There are many verses in the Bible about forgiveness, but none are more famous than Ephesians 4:32- “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

This verse has been used by churches and organizations all over the world as a foundation for their message of forgiveness. It’s important to understand what this verse is saying: that we can’t truly forgive someone until we have been forgiven ourselves. When we do seek forgiveness from others (and ourselves), it becomes easier for us to give them the gift of mercy that they deserve.

Colossians 3:13- “Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”

In this passage, we see God’s desire for us to forgive others because He has forgiven us. This is the example that Jesus set for us when He died on the cross in our place.

Forgiveness is important in all relationships, including marriage, work and church community. If you’re not able to forgive others or put things past you, then your life will be filled with bitterness and conflict. When we are able to forgive others their mistakes and move forward with them in peace it helps create a better relationship between individuals as well as between families and communities.

1 John 1:9- “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

  • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  • For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
  • I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

2 Corinthians 2:7- “So you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.”

You should forgive and comfort him, or he may be overcome by excessive sorrow.

Exodus 34:6-7- “The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness”

“The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.”

James 5:15-16- “And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick…”

James 5:15-16 reads, “If a brother or sister is ill-clad and in lack of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.”

The Bible indicates that prayer is powerful. It can be used to heal the sick. Prayer is a form of communication with God through which we seek divine guidance. It’s an act of faith that requires us to believe in His ability and willingness to hear our request for help. Prayer also makes us more grateful for what we have in life because we recognize that it’s all from Him; thus it becomes easier to forgive others since they’re not responsible for our circumstances anyway (even if they did contribute). Also important here is asking forgiveness from people who have wronged us–both God Himself and others–in order for healing to occur on both sides

Don’t forget that God forgives us when we ask for forgiveness.

God forgives us when we ask for forgiveness. We are forgiven for our sins, mistakes and transgressions against God and others. It is important to remember that God will forgive us when we ask him to do so.
