Prayer For The Pastor Before Preaching

Prayer For The Pastor Before Preaching

Dear Father, thank you for this opportunity to share your word with those who sit before me. Thank you for bringing them here and giving them the strength and courage to be here now. Please give me the words that they need to hear today, so that they may grow in their relationship with you ever more each day. In Jesus name I pray Amen

Heavenly Father, I come before you today knowing that you are a faithful God who keeps all your promises. I know that you keep the promises that you make me and mold me into the person that you want me to be. I come before you with a desire to share your word with others in my congregation, but I am afraid of what people might think or what they will say about me after the service. Please grant me the strength and courage to preach your word fearlessly, boldly and without hesitation.

You have chosen me for this great task and I know that it is not by accident, but by your great design. Help me Father to be prepared for what you have planned for me today. Give me the words to say and help them to be able to hear every single one. Let your spirit flow through my entire body with an intense power and energy so that my congregation can fully understand all that you are trying to tell them.

Lord, I am not here to preach a sermon that everyone can relate too in some way or another; I am here to preach a message of love, hope, faith and redemption so that those who need it most can be saved. So Lord today as I step behind your pulpit give me wisdom and understanding so that I may guide my congregation down the path of righteousness once again where they can find their peace in knowing that you are their Lord, their Father and Protector of their life.

  • Pray for guidance.
  • Pray for wisdom.
  • Pray for understanding.
  • Pray for courage.
  • Pray for peace.
  • Pray for protection (from evil).
  • Pray that your congregation will find salvation in you, not just a good preacher but an example of God’s love and mercy upon them!

In Jesus name I pray Amen

Amen. The word amen is used to confirm a statement or belief, especially in the context of prayer. Amen means “so be it” or “truth” and is often used to end a prayer.

It doesn’t matter if you’re preaching on Noah’s Ark or Jesus’ birth. As long as you’re preaching about God, you need something to remind people what you’re talking about! Prayers are great for that purpose!

The Lord has given each of us a unique gift and purpose in life, so please use this time wisely to share your message with others. Remember that others are watching what we do and how we act because they want to be like us someday. So if you have been chosen by God as the pastor of this church then it is only right that you should serve him in every single way possible; by preaching his word, performing baptisms or even just visiting people who need help with their daily lives. So as you go about doing these things today remember that this world needs more people like us who can lead them down the right path towards salvation.
