Character Reference Letter From A Pastor
Character Reference Letter From A Pastor
Hello Mr. Smith,
I am extremely pleased to write this letter of recommendation for John Doe who, under my leadership, has served as treasurer of Third Church for the past five years. This is a truly dedicated individual who has the highest moral character and will always go the extra mile to complete a task within the deadline.
John is always willing to take on extra duties because he wants to help in any way that he can. He also treats every single person with respect and does not act like he is better or more important than anyone else. I have seen him treat every person that he encounters with the utmost respect including children, teens, other adults, seniors and people with disabilities which makes him a wonderful role model for everyone within our church community.
Dear Mr. Smith,
Dear Mr. Smith,
My name is John Williams, and I’m the pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Springfield. We are a small congregation with about 50 members.
I am writing this letter to recommend Amanda Jones for your consideration for the position of Maintenance Supervisor at Your Company. I have known Ms. Jones for over 15 years and she has always been an outstanding employee as well as a dedicated volunteer in our community. She is currently employed by Your Company where she works as an assistant manager in the maintenance department, but has expressed interest in moving up into a supervisory role within the company if one becomes available.
Ms. Jones graduated from Springfield High School with a 4.0 GPA and received her degree in Electrical Engineering from Central State University in 2012 where she was on both their track team and cheerleading squad all four years there while maintaining straight A’s! She has since gone back as an adjunct professor teaching electrical engineering classes part-time while working full time here at Our Savior Lutheran Church where I have watched her grow into one heck of an amazing person who can be counted on when needed most!

John Doe has been an invaluable asset to our organization. He is one of those rare individuals that can do it all: he manages our finances with precision, he keeps his colleagues up-to-date on upcoming events, and he works well with church members from all walks of life. Not only does he possess these skills but also he possesses a deep love for God that shines through in everything that he does. I know without reservation that if anyone was looking for someone to help them grow their business or organize a fundraiser event, they would be wise in choosing John Doe as their partner!

Your pastor is a valuable reference for you to have on hand because he or she can attest to your character, integrity and moral standing. This letter will be helpful when trying to get a job, a loan or an apartment. When writing this type of letter it is important that you are as honest as possible.
Here are some tips on how to write your own character reference letter:
- Start off by describing the person’s relationship with you. For example: “John Doe has been my friend since we were children.”
- Next explain why they should be trusted with the task at hand. For example: “I have known John Doe since I was ten years old and we have remained good friends ever since.”
It is without hesitation that I recommend John for this position or any other position for which he may be considered due to his positive attitude and outstanding performance at Third Church. If you have any questions regarding his qualifications and abilities, please feel free to contact me at 555-666-7777.

This letter is a recommendation of a candidate who has worked with me in an administrative capacity as an office manager at my church school. The candidate is currently employed by us and performs her duties very well. She is highly motivated, energetic, dependable, honest and trustworthy. She has demonstrated these qualities by being our office manager since we opened our doors three years ago. She has been instrumental in the development and maintenance of our administrative procedures including all aspects of payroll from hiring through termination, budget preparation/follow up (including vacation requests), accounts payable/receivable processing including all necessary reports generated by these functions as well as maintaining accurate records for each employee (i e W2). The candidate also performs various other responsibilities such as purchasing supplies using purchase orders from vendors who supply items needed by our school such as pens pencils paper etcetera . Additionally she prepares monthly bank deposits for us so that we can meet all financial deadlines required by external agencies such as IRS state taxing authorities etcetera . In summary this candidate would be an asset
People who are kind and hard-working make great employees
Working hard, being kind and helpful to others, being a role model for others’ children and the community at large, working well with others on teams—these are all hallmarks of good employees. Honesty is also important in business; it’s not always easy to tell the truth when it might mean losing out on a contract or getting fired from your job.
We value these traits very highly in our company as well: we want people who work hard, who are honest and reliable, who listen carefully to what we say so they can do their jobs well. We value their opinions because they know the business better than anyone else does (or can).
I wish John the best of luck with his job search and I hope that he is able to find an employer who will appreciate all his skills and hard work as much as I do here at Third Church.
