If you’re looking for the best book of the Bible to read in order to get closer to God, you’ve come to the right place! While there are literally thousands of books in the Bible, these are some of my favorites for getting a deeper understanding of who God is and what He does. They all have something unique about them that will help us understand more about Him (or Her) and His plans for our lives—which is why I recommend reading all of them at some point! But if you’re pressed for time or need a quick refresher course on which book is right for your next spiritual adventure, here’s my list:

Romans can teach you about grace.

Romans is all about God’s grace. It is the best book in the Bible to read if you want to learn more about how God’s grace can change your life and bring you closer to Him.

Romans teaches us that no matter what we have done or how sinful we have been, we can receive forgiveness if we trust in Jesus. Romans also tells us that through Jesus’ death on the cross, God has given us a new way of looking at sin and relationships with other people–and ourselves!

John teaches us about Jesus’ love for us, his grace toward sinners, his power over sin and death and hell, his promise of being with believers forever (in heaven), and his work on our behalf through prayer in this world before he comes again to receive us into heaven.

John also teaches how we can have a close relationship with God through Jesus Christ. He tells us that we are accepted by God because Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead so we could be forgiven when we ask Him for forgiveness.

Ephesians can teach you about strength of conviction.

Ephesians is a letter from Paul to the church at Ephesus. It is a letter of love and encouragement. He tells them how much he loves them, and prays for them.

The book has many references to the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ, which can help you understand what they mean in your life today.

James can teach you about faith and works.

For example, when Jesus was on earth He spent lots of time talking with His disciples and explaining things to them so that they would have a greater understanding of who He was and what He came here to do. The Gospels are an excellent place to start if you want to learn more about God’s Son and our Savior.

Another good place would be Acts because this book tells us how everything started after Jesus left this earth (He ascended back into heaven). It explains how Christianity spread throughout the world through people like Paul who traveled around teaching others about Christ until he died in Rome as well as other apostles like Peter and John who also preached about what had happened during Jesus’ life on earth before giving their lives over time as well so that others could understand too.”
