Opening Prayer Points For Church Service

Opening Prayer Points For Church Service

Thank you for joining us today. We have gathered here to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us bow before Him and give thanks to Him for His mercy towards us all. I pray that you may be blessed as we open this service with prayer, praise, and worship.

Our father in heaven, I bow before You today.

  • Bow before the Lord.
  • Thank the Lord for your life and your family, friends, ministry and church.
  • Thank the Lord for His faithfulness to you throughout your life!
  • Thank Him for blessing you with a faithful pastor who loves and serves Him!

Mighty King, the one who was and is to come.

O Mighty King, the one who was and is to come, who rules over all creation with sovereign power, we give you praise. You are our majestic Lord God who walks upon the earth. You are Emmanuel (God with us). You are God’s Son washing us clean in baptism and giving us eternal life through your resurrection so that we might be in heaven with you forever. We thank you for your great faithfulness to keep every promise that you have made as our loving father, who loves his children even when they wander away or disobey him. As such, we pray for those whom this church gathers together this morning:

O God of life: Bless their marriages and restore broken relationships; give them wisdom when making important decisions and strength during difficult times; help them to sacrifice self-interests for the sake of others’ needs; fill them with joy at every opportunity for living according to your will alone; grant them grace whenever temptation comes near so that they can overcome its enticements without sinning against you again.

Thank you for making my life a living testimony.

Thank you for making my life a living testimony.

I thank God for the good things he has done for me, and I thank God for the good things I have done for others. I also thank God for the good things that I have done for myself, and to my family.

Today, I pray for all the leaders of this church that you may strengthen them with your Spirit.

I pray today for all the leaders of this church that you may strengthen them with your Spirit. I pray that you would give them a vision, a strategy, and courage to fulfill it. I pray that you would bring peace in their minds so they can think clearly. I pray that they will not be deceived by the enemy but remain faithful to your Word and obedient to your call on their lives.

I also lift up each member of this congregation before you today: That they would come boldly before you; That they would live as children of light; That they would walk in love; And most importantly, That they would walk in unity together with one another!

Lord Jesus thank you for another opportunity to gather together in Your name and to worship You.

I will worship You, Lord Jesus.

For You are the One that gives meaning to my life.

You are the One who made me and gave me life.

I will worship You, Lord Jesus.

For all things were created by You and for Your glory alone, with no other purpose than to glorify and praise You forevermore!

Heavenly Father, we come to You today thanking You for yesterday and today.

  • Heavenly Father, we come to You today thanking You for yesterday and today.
  • Thank you for yesterday. We are grateful for all the blessings that were given to us through the things which happened in our lives.
  • Thank you for today. We pray that we may be able to use this day wisely and glorify You with all of our being, mind, heart and strength.

Today as we begin our time of worship, I ask that Your mighty hand would be upon us all.

In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus said “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted” (NKJV). As followers of Jesus Christ and His Church we are blessed by God’s amazing grace and mercy. We receive these blessings through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9).

As a church body we come together today under His mighty hand so that He can pour out His Spirit upon us once more. This blessing will give us power for life as we walk with Him on this earth until our last day here on Earth comes about.

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us life and grace to live everyday.

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us life and grace to live everyday. Thank you for giving us the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who resides in each one of us.

Thank you for giving us the Bible as a guide to help us understand your will and how we can live our lives according to it.

So many times, Lord we have meditated on your word and so many times you have heard our prayers; so today we want to thank you for your faithfulness and love towards us despite our sins against you.

God is faithful and he loves us despite our sins against him. He always listens to us when we pray to him, he always offers his help in whatever situation we find ourselves whether it be good or bad. He is always there for all of his children no matter how far away they may seem from him at that moment. God wishes nothing but happiness for all those who live on this earth as well as those who are currently residing in heaven with him forevermore!

Praying for church service is important

Prayer is a powerful thing. It’s a way to express gratitude and recognize God’s presence in our lives, which can help us feel more connected to Him, as well as our faith community and the world around us.

Usually, people pray before church services because they want their congregation to feel connected with each other and God during the service. The prayer also helps them see how much they have in common with each other—they’re all imperfect humans who need God’s mercy and grace every day!

We hope you find these prayer points useful as we pray for a successful church service.
