Scriptures In The Bible On Forgiveness
If you’re a Christian and have been reading your Bible, you may have come across some verses that talk about forgiveness. The Bible is full of scriptures on the grace and mercy of God, but many Christians don’t understand what it means to be forgiven by God. In this post, we will explore different scriptures in the Bible on forgiveness so that you can better understand how God forgives us when we sin against him and others.
You were born with a sin nature.
You were born with a sin nature. The Bible says that “sin is crouching at the door.” (Genesis 4:7) This means that sin is just waiting for the right opportunity to attack you once again. It’s like a virus, lying in wait until you come in contact with it, then it attacks and infects you.
Sin affects your emotions by causing feelings of guilt and shame when we disobey God’s Word and break His laws. But even if we do not feel guilty about our sins or want to change them, God still sees them and He knows them!
Sin also affects our behavior by making us do things we would never normally do if we were thinking rationally or logically without the influence of our sinful nature: murder, adultery…even stealing money from others who need it more than they do!
Your sin nature causes you to be selfish and sinful.
Let’s start with the most important truth about sin: it is selfishness. The Bible teaches that “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). As a result of your sin nature, you are sinful by nature—selfish by nature.
In fact, your whole life is centered on self-centeredness. You cannot help but think about yourself first. You cannot stop thinking about yourself unless someone else makes you do so or unless God intervenes through the Holy Spirit which causes us to focus on Him instead of ourselves!
Your sin nature has caused you to have hurt, anger, jealousy, and pride that’s against God.
Your sin nature has caused you to have hurt, anger, jealousy, and pride that’s against God. The Bible says in 1 John 5:16-17 “If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will give him life – to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is such a thing as deadly sin; I do not say that one should pray about that.”
Your sinful nature is selfish and sinful. We’ve all been born with this nature because of Adam’s first sin when he ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden Of Eden (Genesis 2:9). We all want things on our terms which goes against what God wants for us because He wants us to live according your His standards not yours.
You are a sinner who needs Jesus to forgive all of your sins.
You are a sinner who needs Jesus to forgive all of your sins.
You are not good enough to make it to heaven. You need Jesus to forgive all of your sins.
Jesus died for your sins, paid the full price for them on the cross, and rose again as proof that He has forgiven you completely (1 Corinthians 15:1-8).
Jesus died for your sins and paid the full price for your sins on the cross.
Jesus died for our sins, and paid the full price for them on the cross.
In John 3:16-17, Jesus says:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.”
God sent Jesus to be our Savior and Lord.
- God sent Jesus to be our Savior and Lord.
- Jesus is the only way to heaven
- Jesus is the only way to salvation
- Jesus is the only way to forgiveness of sins
- Jesus is the only way to eternal life
The Holy Spirit lives inside all of us as we trust in Jesus.
You may have heard that the Holy Spirit is the one who gives us the ability to believe in Jesus. But have you ever thought about how necessary this gift is for your faith? Without it, you wouldn’t be able to believe in God, or even know that He exists. You also couldn’t trust Him as your Savior from sin—and without that trust, you couldn’t receive forgiveness from Him!
This isn’t all: The Holy Spirit also lives inside all of us as we trust in Jesus. This means that if we don’t have His presence living inside our hearts (or spirits), then we won’t know what it feels like to truly be forgiven by God through His Son Jesus Christ. We won’t understand what true freedom looks like either…and without understanding these truths about our relationship with God and ourselves as humans made in His image, then how can anyone lead a truly fulfilling life?
We can come to Jesus anytime and ask him to forgive us from within.
As Christians, we can come to Jesus anytime and ask him to forgive us from within. We don’t have to wait until the end of our lives. We can ask him right now.
We can come in confidence knowing that he will hear our prayers and answer them with love and compassion.
God accepts our faith in Jesus.
We can come to Jesus anytime and ask him to forgive us from within. God accepts our faith in Jesus. Jesus died for our sins and paid the full price for our sins on the cross. God sent Jesus to be our Savior and Lord.
As we obey God, we will be blessed in heaven or on earth through Jesus’ promise of eternal life with him when we die.
As we obey God, we will be blessed in heaven or on earth through Jesus’ promise of eternal life with him when we die.
It is important to remember that Jesus’ death was not just a sacrifice for our sins but also an example of how to live a holy life: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
The Bible is the Word of God, and it’s our job to follow its teachings. The Bible teaches us how to be forgiven and have peace with God through Jesus Christ. We can be sure that God will accept our forgiveness if we ask him for it, because he has already paid the price on our behalf with his son Jesus Christ dying on the cross for all of our sins. If you’re looking for peace in your life today, then I encourage you to come to Christ by faith in what he did for us at Calvary!
