List Of Encounters With Jesus In The Bible

Disciples on the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 8:23-27, Mark 4:35-41 and Luke 8:22-25)

In this encounter, Jesus calms the storm and then walks on water. He speaks to the disciples and tells them to go to the other side of the boat. Then he speaks to them again, telling them again to go across. This time they were able to make it across because of their faith in Jesus Christ!

Paralytic (Matthew 9:1-8; Mark 2:1-12; Luke 5:17-26)

According to the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus saw a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years. The man was being carried by four people to be put on Jesus’ bed so that He could heal him. When Jesus saw this, He told them not to put him down but rather let him go home and tell others about what God has done for him.

Jesus then said to the man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Then he ordered those carrying the paralytic to set him down outside so that his friends could come in and see what happened to him after they left.

When they did this, some scribes and Pharisees complained because they didn’t believe in healing miracles like these anymore! They thought that only God could heal people like this (and even then it wasn’t likely). However if Jesus did such things as heal others’ sicknesses then maybe he really was God after all! A little later when Jesus asked them what they were arguing about with each other about being healed by a mere human being such as Him; one of them answered back saying: “It is written in Isaiah 53:4-5: ‘Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows.'” But before long another person replied saying,”That verse refers only to Christ’s death on Calvary which means there’s no way anyone else can ever do anything like that!”

Woman With Hemorrhages (Matthew 9:20-22; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8:43-48)

Jairus’ Daughter (Matthew 9:18, 23-26; Mark 5:22-24, 35-43; Luke 8:41, 42, 49-56)

In Matthew 9:18-26, a man named Jairus asks Jesus to heal his 12-year-old daughter, who has died. Jesus rolls up his sleeves and walks with Jairus to the home where she is laid out on a bed. When they arrive, Jesus takes her by the hand and raises her up immediately. In Mark 5:22-24, 35-43, Luke 8:41-56 and John 11:1-46 we learn that this same girl had died again after three days because of severe bleeding due to an injury caused by falling off a roof (Mark 5:35).

Jesus criticizes those who criticize him for healing on the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:1).

Two Blind Men (Matthew 9:27-31)

You may be familiar with the story of Jesus healing two blind men. In it, he tells them to go wash in a pool of water and they will be healed. They do so and their sight is restored.

This is one encounter with Jesus in the Bible that shows his power over physical injuries, but there are many more encounters throughout scripture that show his healing abilities to be much more than just curing blindness.

Mute Man Who Was Demon Possessed (Matthew 9:32-34)

The Bible tells us that Jesus healed a mute man who was demon-possessed. The man was sitting at the side of the road, unable to speak or beg for money, and people took pity on him by giving him whatever they could spare. When Jesus saw this, He called out to the mute man and said to him: “What is your name?” The man replied: “My name is Legion; because we are many.”

Jesus then cast out all of the demons from inside of this poor man’s body and sent them into a herd of pigs nearby. The pigs ran off in all directions away from shore where they were feeding on grain along with their young ones, but when they reached shallow water (where there was no deeper place), they fell into it and drowned! One would think that with such an amazing miracle as this happening right before their very eyes, everyone would have gone home praising God for His greatness…but instead…well…you’ll just have to read about it yourself!

Canaanite Woman (Matthew 15:21-28; Mark 7:24-30)

Jesus’ response to the woman was: “I am not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” When we are faced with a difficult situation and need God’s help, it can be tempting to try and bargain for what we want. Sometimes this involves us trying to convince God that he owes us something in exchange for our prayers or worship. In this story, Jesus rebuked this woman because she was asking him for something that was beyond his ability as a servant of God. Instead of giving into her demands and performing a miracle just because she asked, Jesus showed himself as someone who is willing to serve others even though they don’t deserve it.

The disciples thought that by giving food and water they had fulfilled their duty toward this woman and could go back home after getting rid of her pesky presence! But when they saw how Jesus responded by healing her daughter without paying attention whatsoever to their desire to leave quickly (or rather hastily), then perhaps they began realizing how wrong it would’ve been if they had gone ahead with their original plan instead of letting Him do what needed done–that is, heal an entire family at once instead just one person at time.”

Syrophoenician Woman’s Daughter (Mark 7::24-30)

One of the most famous miracles in the Bible is Jesus’ healing of a woman’s daughter. The story is found in Mark 7, verses 24-30:

24 And from there he arose and went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not be hidden. 25 But immediately a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him, cried out, and came and fell at his feet. 26 Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth; and she begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter. 27 And he said to her, “Let the children be fed first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 28 But she answered him,”Yes Lord; but even the dogs under your table eat from time to time scraps that fall from their masters’ table.” 29 And Jesus answered her,”O woman great is thy faith! Be it done unto thee as thou wilt.” 30 And her daughter was healed instantly (Mark 7:24-30).

The Bible says that “immediately” after this encounter with Jesus Christ (or simply “Jesus”), this woman’s daughter was healed! A miracle no one would’ve expected or predicted had happened right before their eyes!
